[applause] as a consequence of the great recession, family, middle class families lost $16 trillion in wealth, mostly in equity in their homes, they saw them evaporate, and their pension plans and their 401-k's. it is time for everybody to chip in, but we should not be surprised at their continued opposition to everyone chipping in. these are the folks who talked about 47% of the american people being unwilling to take responsibility. by the way, the congressman from wisconsin in his speech to "the spectator" said 47% of americans are these takers. i do not know who these people are they're talking about.
